Chris Buck joined SIT as Chief Executive Officer in 2014 and has since become President and CEO. Chris has extensive experience in technology and financial services having worked at the University of Waterloo, Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd and DMR Inc. Chris had an extensive career with increasing executive roles at Manulife Financial including CIO of Canadian Wealth Management, CAO of Manulife Bank of Canada and Global CTO of Manulife Financial and John Hancock. Chris was a strong contributor to the growth of Manulife’s Canadian Wealth Management business to over $100 Billion in Assets. Chris believes that the software and services provided by Strategic Information Technology are key to growing employee, shareholder and customer value in a technology enabled business.
Rob is the prime architect of Strategy/PM, the first generation banking system that later became the launching pad for Portfolio Plus. He has over three decades of experience in information systems and EDP, having consulted for both government and private sector in a broad cross-section of applications, ranging from banking to manufacturing to artificial intelligence. He has been self-employed and a principal of his own firm for the majority of his career. Rob has fulfilled virtually every role in the software value chain, from programmer to project manager to chief architect.
Stephen has over 30 years of information systems industry experience, which includes major private sector and government assignments in finance, accounting, order processing, manufacturing, human resources, payroll, and banking. He has been a business partner with his brother, Rob, for the majority of this time. Together, they have built Portfolio Plus, a growing banking software platform that is being used in dozens of Canadian financial institutions, along with financial organizations in Trinidad, UK, Ireland, and Belize. Stephen’s primary mandate at SIT is to enable the continued growth and modernization of the Portfolio Plus banking software platform.
Chris Mero joins SIT from IBM Canada where he was the Executive IT Architect for IBM’s Global Technology Services. Chris’s extensive experience in the increasingly overlapping fields of information technology and financial services stems from his former positions as the Vice President of Strategy, Architecture and Planning for Sun Life Financial and Global Enterprise Architect for GMAC. He is a senior leader with a proven track record of infrastructure architecture and application delivery, and he has held positions from Developer to Chief Architect in the automotive and financial services industries. Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Science in Information Technology, Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA in International Business from Wayne State University, and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Windsor.
Dianne brings over 20 years of industry expertise to her role as Vice-President of Client Service. She has worked her way through virtually all areas of banking, including teller processing, deposit services, clearing, payments, registered products, lending products, financial advisement, and management. Joining SIT in 2002, Dianne began as a customer support representative, and then worked to advance her responsibility as a manager of customer support, manager of software migration services, and vice-president of customer support, and vice-president of application support. Dianne has an MBA from Bangor University, UK and a Chartered Banker designation from The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
Donna joined SIT in 1998 as part of our web applications group and led that group to deliver high performance web banking applications for the financial industry. With a deep understanding of technology, user interfaces, and the sales process required to help customers adopt new technologies, Donna accepted a role as Vice President of Application Development, in 2014, to lead the Portfolio Plus product development strategy forward. Donna attended both Durham College and Sir Sandford Fleming College to complete her education in Business Administration, GIS Systems, and Integrated Resource Technology.
Liz has built a successful career in progressive leadership roles in the enterprise software and the global financial services industry. She has a proven track record in sales leadership, business consulting and professional services sales. Most recently Liz was a Director with Deloitte Consulting and Salesforce.com focused on business development in the Canadian financial services industry. Prior to this she successfully led high performance sales and professional service teams at Sun Microsystems, Avaya, Verizon and Thomson Corporation. With a strong focus on understanding client needs, establishing business value, and building trusted relationships, she and her teams have closed some of the most significant contracts in the history of the firms she has worked for. Liz holds a BA from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.
